General Dentistry in East Kilbride

  • How often should I visit the dentist for a check-up?
We recommend twice yearly check-ups, typically every six months, to maintain optimal oral health. These routine appointments allow us to monitor your dental health, catch issues early, and provide professional cleanings for a fresh and healthy smile.
  • What is the importance of preventive dentistry?
Preventive dentistry is the key to maintaining good oral health. By adopting preventive measures such as regular cleanings, exams, and personalised advice on oral hygiene, you can significantly reduce the risk of cavities, gum disease, and other dental concerns.
  • Do you offer emergency dental services?
Yes, we understand that dental emergencies can be stressful. Our team at Devine Dental is here for you. Contact us, and we'll make every effort to accommodate you promptly, providing compassionate care to address your urgent dental needs.
  • How can I maintain good oral health at home between dental visits?
Maintaining good oral health at home is crucial for overall dental well-being. Brush your teeth twice daily using fluoride toothpaste, floss regularly to clean between teeth and gums, and adopt a balanced diet low in sugary snacks and beverages. Additionally, stay hydrated and avoid tobacco use. These simple habits contribute significantly to preserving your oral health between visits to Devine Dental.

You should register your baby with a dentist before they reach six months of age, around the time their first baby teeth begin to erupt. Like adult patients, babies and children need a check-up every six months unless instructed otherwise by their dentist.

Visiting the dentist from a young age encourages robust oral health habits in children, preventing them from developing dental anxiety later in life and encouraging them to get regular check-ups into their adult life. The result? Healthy teeth and gums for the foreseeable future.

During your child’s appointment, we’ll carry out an extensive examination of their jaw, gums and bite. We will check for misalignments to see if your child needs orthodontic treatment and also for plaque, tartar and stains. If need be, we will give your child’s teeth a very gentle clean and apply preventative treatments, like fluoride varnishes, that ward off tooth decay and help keep their teeth and gums healthy for life. Lastly, we will educate you and your child on the correct way to brush little teeth and give you oral health tips like brushing and which foods and drinks to avoid.
